Krishna Jayanthi Special


Happy Krishna Jayanthi to all of you....

Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated as Hindu religious festival and the birth of Lord Krishna is called as Krishna Jayanthi. So the hindu people is celebrated this festival annually. In Hindus calender, it is celebrated on the month of avani, the eighth day from the full moon day on Rohini Nakshatra. In Gregorian calender, this festival is celebrated in the month of August and September. In south india, it is celebrated as Gokulashtami and it is also celebrated as in the name of Ashtami Rohini in Kerala. In India, it is celebrated in the different names.

In North India, Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated as in the form of Rasa lila and Dahi handi. Rasa lila is nothing but it is a drama which describes the life of Lord Krishna in his childhood. Dahi handi is one kind of game and it is otherwise called as uriadi. It is an event of forming teams of young people to make a pyramids of human to hit a high-hanging pot which contains butter. It is a major event on that day.In south India, it is celebrated as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami. Brahmins, Yadhavas, Chettiars and Pillais are celebrating this festival. Lord Krishna birth occurs at mid night and so poojas are done in the evening. Sweets and Savouries are prepared and then women put rangolis on the ground by using rice flour. If any boy child are present in home means people decorates him like an Infant Krishna and put foot prints on ground by using rice flour to represent the arrival of Lord Krishna from the entrance of house to pooja room.

Lord Krishna is born in Madhura. His parents are Vasudeva and Devagi. He is the eighth child of them. To protect Lord Krishna from his abusive uncle called Kamsa, the King of Madhura. Vasudeva bring krishna to Brindavanam which is present beyond from Yamuna river. In Brindavanam he keep his son in the house of Yadhavas couple of Nandagopar and Yasodha.There Lord krishna playing a flute, cattle herding, playing with friends and the time spent for doing naughty things like butter theif (ie) he theft butter which is present in pot from all the houses present in the Brindavanam. So he is a naughty boy of Brindavanam.To attack Krishna,the king Kamsa sent some Asura but lord krishna killed them. In his younger age, he plays with younger girls called gopis. but he has an divine love with Radha. These stories are called as Rasa lila. When he reached an adult age, he went to Madhura and killed Kamsa and handed over the Kingdom to his grandfather, Ugrasena. Then he make friendship with his aunt's son Pandavas especially he became a friend of Arjuna. Then he gone to Dwaraka along with Madhura people and started his own Kingdom there. Kurukshetra war occurs between Pandavas and Kauravas. In that, Lord krishna gave his sena to Kauravas and he acted as Arjuna's charioteer. Before the war getting started, the conversation started between Lord krishna and Arjuna. this conversation is called as Bhagavad Gita. Lateron, he live with his wife called Rukmini in Dwaraka and he became the king of yadavas. Then he was killed by the hunters arrow in the forest. Yadavas started to quarrel among themselves and destroyed themselves. Finally Dwaraka is destroyed.

Lord Krishna is the God of Hindhu people. This avathar is one of the avathar of Lord Vishnu. In Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharatham mythology lord Krishna details are available in it. The tamil people call Lord Krishna as kannan and the North Indian people call him as Kannaiah. Apart this, Kesavan, Govindan, Gopalan are the other names of Lord krishna. Krishna having a total of 16,108 wives but all of them are considered to be the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. The first son of Rukmini is pradyumna.

It is the one of the main scriptures of Hindu religious people. In Mahabharatha, before started Kurukshetra war, Arjuna visited opposition parties. They are his relatives, friends, teachers etc. So he refused to fight with them. Lord Krishna saw this and told him to fight against them no sentimental issues are involved. That explanation indicates the Philosophy and Literature. This conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna is Bhagawad Gita.

Amarnath Shiva Darshan Yatra -Amarnath Chalo

Amarnath cave temple is located in Jammu & Kashmir. In ancient times, it is considered as important Hindus cave temple and 5000 year old hindu temple. The mulavar of this temple is Amarnath (Lord Shiva). The Linga which is made up of ice is located inside the Amarnath Ashram. This Linga is melted during the period of May and August and later on, it automatically reform into Linga. The reformation of ice linga is mainly based on the development of moon. According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Shiva reports to parvathi about the secrets of life. The ice statue of Goddess Parvathi and lord Ganesha are available here. The height of this cave temple is 3,888 metres and it is far away from the distance of 141km from srinagar. There are chances available to attack this temple by Islamic Extremists. So this cave temple is observed by Indian army. Therefore, people should seek prior permission of Indian Government to go to Amarnath Yatra.



AMARNATH TEMPLE HISTORY:


Amarnath temple is present in the beautiful state of Jammu & Kashmir and it is located in the lower part of the Himalayas. This cave temple is situated at a height of 4000 feet above the sealevel. In this cave, a Stalagmite is present which have the shapes of Linga, Parvathi and Ganesha. The devotees of Lord Shiva is well known the history of Amarnath temple. The Shravanimela festival is celebrated here. So many of the Lord Shiva Devotees gone there during the festival time. The Amarnath temple history details are mentioned in the ancient text of Bhringish Samhita. Amarnath is also known as Amareshwar and the pilgrims used to go there around the time of Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan. The Amarnath Pilgrimage is conducted from the month of Ashadha to Shravana. So many of the people including Hindu, sikh and muslim people going there on that time. Finally it becomes tourist spots for the people.



AMARNATH YATRA:


The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. There are many mythological stories available in Amarnath yatra. Amarnath cave temple plays a major tourist place and it is attracted by the people because of ice linga, ice formation of Lord Ganesha and Goddess parvathi. There are 3 routes available to go for this temple. one is by airways (by helicopter) and the other two by roadways.


* One Roadway is from Jammu to Pahalgam to Amarnath cave. Initially people gone to Jammu by air and from Jammu they are gone to Pahalgam at a distance of 315 km by using taxi and bus. The Government of Jammu & Kashmir provide taxis and buses for travelling. After reaching Pahalgam, they are gone to Amarnath cave via chandanwari, pissu top, sheshnag and panchtarni and finally reach Amarnath temple.


* Another roadway route is from Jammu to Baltal to Amarnath. The distance of Jammu to Amarnath is about 400kms. The visitors passing through a beautiful valleys, steeped mountains and so this make a memorable to visitor throughout their life.


* The third route to reach Amarnath by using Helicopters.

PHYSICAL FITNESS:


Before going to Amarnath yatra, one should do some activities for their smooth travelling. Compulsarily, one should walk in their trip. So before going to yatra, everyday walk for 4 hrs in the morning or evening for one month. Apart from this, one should take body massage by using mustard oil and take bath of warm water for 1 month. By doing all these things, one should never get too much of tired and so it will be very easy to get a trip of Amarnath temple.

BREATHING:

Before going to yatra, one should compulsarily practice yoga exercise (ie) Prana yama. Because when one make a journey on foot, especially in the mountain, scarcity of oxygen occurs, so to avoid this one should practice deep breathing exercise.

ADVICES:

* One should keep his clothes and eatables in plastic bags because of the rain.

* one should have sufficient money for his accomodation.

* Always carry eatables and luggage along with them to avoid inconvenience.

* One should carry Medical kit with them.

* One should keep enchanting "Om namah shivaya" during his trip.

* Avoid intake of alcohol.

* sarees are not comfortable to women while walking so wear comfortable clothes.

* Children and aged people are not allowed for this trip because the nature of the trip is unsuitable.

During yatra one should carry gloves, raincoat, torch light, waterproof shoes, vaseline, sweater and woolen clothes. Because these are all suitable for that climatic condition. Eatables like dry fruits, biscuits, honey, lemon, chocolates, milk powder, sugar baked grams etc. If you follow and carry all these things, you will have a nice and comfortable trip.
